Land size > 2ha Practices Monoculture – i.e. grows ONE crop only Uses large machines mainly e.g. Combined Harvester or Tractor Large Scale: Plantation or Arable Farming Crop is exported

Small farms < 2ha Small Scale Farming: Peasant Farming Grows more than one crop- i.e. Multi- cropping Uses simple tools such as a hoe Crop sold at local market

Small Scale Farming: Subsistence or Backyard gardening Occurs on a small scale Can use grow box Usually grows 1 or 2 crops Grows just enough for the family
