Presentation transcript:

Swamps are wetlands, they are lowland water areas with muddy bottoms. They start as marshes but change into swamps.

The animals we chose are red belly piranha, anaconda and American crocodile and a frog.

The anaconda is the largest snake in the world. They live in south America. It is a meat eating giant that gives birth to snakes at one time.

The American crocodile is a meat eating reptile that has a long tapered snout. The piranha is a fish that lives in fresh water in South American swamp. He is a omnivore but loves meat which he eats quickly with his razor sharp teeth.

The plants are water lilies, cattails and Venus fly trap. Lily pads are known as water lilies. They grow beautiful flowers and the plants sit on top of the water. Cattails are one of the most common plants in the swamp. It has a flowering spike. The Venus fly trap is a carnivorous plant. A fly lands on its open leaf and it closes to eat it.

The Egyptian plover bird eats food off of the crocodile's teeth. It helps clean the croc’s teeth and in turn gets food.
