Presentation transcript:

Why and when did Pascal make the triangle? What are some patterns in Pascal’s triangle(what is so important about what’s in Pascal’s triangle?) What does Pascal’s triangle help us with in Mathematics today? Questions

Pascal didn’t really “make” the triangle. Before he found out some discoveries inside it, and before it got changed to Pascal’s triangle, it was called Arithmetical Triangle. Mathematicians Chia Hsien and Omar Khayam were working on it a long time ago. Pascal “made” this triangle in Why and When did Pascal Make the triangle

Patterns are vital in mathematics. There are really important in Pascal triangle. S0me Patterns are……………. Powers of 11, Binomial Coefficients, Triangular numbers, Symmetrical, Powers of 2(sum),Fibbonacci,Chossing the number of ways to do something, and the sum of the two upper numbers. What are some patterns in Pascal’s triangle? How do they help us in math?  This is the triangular numbers pattern. Binomial Coefficints Under here

What are some patterns in Pascal’s triangle?(continued) Fibbonacci Numbers  Sum of Rows Patterns  Symmetrical Ways to choose something:

Pascal’s triangle helps us with patterns, determining probability, and a lot of other things. They help us find shortcuts, and do problems that ask for things about Pascal’s triangle. What does Pascal’s triangle help us with in math today?

Pascal’s triangle is very useful in many parts of mathematics. I hope everyone learned something today. I liked learning things about Pascal’s triangle. I think that I learned a lot from the Passion Project. I hope you did too. Well……………… Conclusion
