creativity fear overwork criticism message- centredness bad theology cultural separation poor communication Out of touch with God?

 Doing the same old thing  Everything sounds and looks the same  Saying the same old things... ...to the same old people  We get bored... (“nothing tastes”) ..and the listener gets bored.... ... and goes away  Reinforces traditional image of Church – out-of-date and out- of-touch © 2011 FEBC International

 New kinds of programs for:  new audiences  meeting new needs or opportunities  New packaging: styles or formats (new ways of doing old things)  Things never done before © 2011 FEBC International

 We need to package good things well  God demonstrates his creativity in nature  He didn’t just shout…  People need to be touched through their feelings and emotions  Creative expression penetrates the barriers  Our spirits need to be moved – not only our minds © 2011 FEBC International

 Read, watch, listen… STAY IN TOUCH!  Write ideas down  Ask God to help you as you study Bible  Interact with people outside of the church  Watch TV and listen to radio critically  Adapt good materials © 2011 FEBC International

 We tell more stories from daily life  We ask more questions  We use more variety – style, people, etc.  We encourage more interaction  We experiment with new things (– even if we get them wrong!)  We use multiple channels – together!  We find new ways of saying old things © 2011 FEBC International

 Creativity generates a “wow” factor  Listeners tell other listeners  It encourages our own spirits – and the team’s  It grows our audience  It potentially has greater and lasting impact © 2011 FEBC International
