Video Editing Three Simple Techniques to Great Videos
Overview Basics Windows Movie Maker PowerPoint and Jing Camtasia
Basics Video editing can be complex or simple. It all depends on what your needs are. If you don’t have a budget to hire a professional to do your video for you then you need to learn some techniques that will help you make decent videos on your own.
Basics There are a few ways to create video that will give you decent quality and help you get started with a video marketing campaign. We are going to cover three: Windows Movie Maker (free on a PC) PowerPoint with Jing ($14.95 for a year) Camtasia (about $300)
Windows Movie Maker This does not have much of a learning curve, you will import images, add transitions, add a coloring effect if you desire, and add your audio track. This is a great way to get simple videos done.
PowerPoint and Jing Take it up a notch – or two. You can create pretty nice looking videos with Jing. Basically it is a product that allows you to record and share what is on your desktop. I use this constantly for many things. You can only make videos up to 5 minutes but for most videos you don’t even need that.
Camtasia This is Jing’s big bother. A very robust system that will allow you to record much longer. We use this to record our webinars.
