Liver H.4.1-H.4.7. H.4.1 Blood flow through liver The liver receives blood from the hepatic portal vein This blood is coming from the small intestine.
The liver, the largest gland of the body, can be considered a chemical factory that manufactures, stores, alters, and excretes a large number of substances.
THE LIVER Blood Circulation Liver receives blood from two major blood vessels and is drained by one. -hepatic artery -hepatic portal vein -hepatic vein.

HEPATOCYTE

SPECIALIZED ORGANELLES Lysosomes Help to digest toxic including drugs, alcohol and microorganisms Mitochondria Give energy to hepatocyte to take progress

FUNCTION Detox toxic from blood Create bile and send to small intestine Kupffer cell destroy bacteria in blood Albumine protein created Create cholesterol and send into blood vessel.

FUNCTION (2) Change glucose to glycogen and store it. Regulate glucose and amino acid. Store iron from hemoglobin degenerate Change ammonia to urea Create substance that make blood clot.

DISEASE Cirrhosis Effected by when you get a wound in the cell and be in the long time. Until it can’t function anymore so it called Cirrhosis. Hepatitis It is a inflammation of hepatocyte. It occurs by virus. It can transfer by mucus and mostly of patient can be cured.
