Being abducted against will, under threat to be exploited The 3 rd most profitable criminal activity making an estimated $9.5 billion dollar/year revenue 50,000 people are trafficked into the U.S. every year There are more human slaves today than ever before in history

Guyana is a source country for traffickers… Where do they come from? Victims are usually… Women who move to live with relatives in heavier populated areas Are young (under 18) Men are also victims; usually for labor Amerindian, Afro-Guyanese, and Guyanese females Prostitution occurs in… Chinese restaurants Brothels on the coast line Small mining communities
