 The entrance to their homes is decorated with coloured chalk powder, this art is called Rangoli.  Special sweets called Loddous are made and shared among friends and neighbours

 The Hindu people have a pooja on this day.  It is a Religious celebration like mass.  On this day people pray for success in business and wealth.

 Beautiful fireworks are lit through the night this is a symbol of driving away evil.
