The main current task of the project is to provide a constantly high quality of the scientific journals content. SCIENTIFIC CONTENT OF HUMANITARIAN JOURNAL AS A PROBLEM

Analysing the modern humanitarian journals makes it possible to show their main problems: Non-format. Concentration on regional issues. Lacking conceptual integrity of the journal. SCIENTIFIC CONTENT OF HUMANITARIAN JOURNAL AS A PROBLEM

The general analysis of most of the Russian humanitarian journals can be demonstrated on the example of the UrFU journal «Quaestio Rossica». It shows the following results. SCIENTIFIC CONTENT OF HUMANITARIAN JOURNAL AS A PROBLEM

The strong points of the journal: 1. There is a definitely formulated main purpose of the journal, which is being systematically realized – that is, to extend the idea of the Russian humanitarian discourse in the world’s scientific space. 2. The journal preserves a core scientific idea, defining the value of each issue. 3. It is edited by a reputable editorial board, including world’s greatest experts in Slavonic studies, such as Prof. Francine-Dominique Liechtenhan (France), Prof. Arto Mustajoki (Finland). SCIENTIFIC CONTENT OF HUMANITARIAN JOURNAL AS A PROBLEM

The weak points of the journal: 1. Lacking a distinct language policy of the journal, where materials in main European languages are published, which is reflected in the scientific contents and in the level of its professional perception. 2. Lacking professional English translations of the articles and abstracts. 3. A non-balanced editorial policy of the journal, which permits reviewing instead of disputing and discussing. This leads to the looseness of the editorial position. 4. Lacking the complex idea of a critical review in the “Сritica” section. 5. Weak conceptuality and low originality of certain articles.
