Heavy Equipment Operator Cody Miller

History People need operators to lift heavy stuff on the job site and to make a spot to build. They can take down trees, flatten the ground, and hole heavy stuff for long periods of time.

Skills CDL Heavy Equipment Training programs also consist of web- based training (WBT), computer-based training (CBT) and simulator training (ST ) A CDL is not necessary to operate heavy equipment, however, you may need to take the equipment from one site to another on a truck and a CDL license is required to drive on public roads. You will be very attractive to employers with the CDL than without it. And many contractors require a CDL for employment.

Education Heavy Equipment Operators typically need to have Commercial Drivers Licenses, and most operators are also required to have earned high-school diplomas. They should also have experience driving trucks and using smaller construction machinery to demonstrate awareness of the way construction works Operation and maintenance of the different pieces of equipment Hazards, safety rules, and precautions for Traffic laws

Financial Outlook This is the pay scale

Jobs Construction equipment operators held about 494,000 jobs in 2006.
