We don’t have God’s mind or see with his eyes. 1 Cor 13:12 says “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.”
Biblical references to pain “For evils beyond number have surrounded me Psalm 40:12 (NASB) “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up the present time. Rom 8:22 (NIV) Why is my pain unending, my wound grievous and incurable? Jer 15:18(NV)
Limits of human knowledge Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the L ORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
A matter of Perspective We decide whether to turn bitter or turn to God for peace and courage. John 16:33 “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. But be courageous. I have conquered the world.” God offers us the two very things we need when we are hurting: peace to deal with our present and courage to deal with our future. Suffering does not have the last word anymore. God does.
