Marian Anderson  Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania  on February 27, 1897 but she said to people that her birthday was February 17,  When Marian was 13 years old, she joined the senior choir at church and began visiting other churches.  She became so famous that people began to invite her to sing for them.  Marian Anderson is famous because she is the first America  Died on April 8,1993 at age 96

BESSIE COLEMAN  Born in Atlanta, Texas  On January 26, 1892 but said she was four years younger being born in 1896  Her other brother John, a world war I veteran, said that all French women where better in almost everything, they could even fly airplanes.  This made Bessie dream of "amounting to something" and her brother's talking so much about flying airplanes inspired her to become a pilot.  Bessie is famous for being the first African American women to be a pilot, and get her pilots licenses  Died April 30, 1926 at age 34
