Consumer-based Loans Can help make up the balance due in tuition and for personal expenses Many loan companies are available; check Cox website for suggestions Non-US citizens will need co-signer

Paying Tuition Tuition is due prior to the start of each semester Any scholarship received will be applied to tuition in equal installments Loan funds are first applied to tuition balance; remaining funds are refunded to student Check your smu.edu account for information
Loan Disbursements If you take out loans beyond what is required for tuition, balance is refunded to you after tuition is paid You can choose direct deposit (requires form) or to receive a check via mail Funds sent to you as quickly and efficiently as possible
After the MBA… Federal and some private loans come with a 6 month grace period after graduation Terms of repayment can be customized Check with your lender(s) about opportunities to consolidate Stafford (Federal) loans and lock in low interest rates Other interest rate reductions may be for EFT payments, on time payments, etc.

Pre-MBA Requirements Accounting and Statistics Prep materials will be sent (via UPS) to all deposited students starting in May Follow instructions to review prep materials Successfully pass both online tests by the July 31 deadline (you can take the tests multiple times, if needed)
Pre-MBA Requirements Career Management Center Packet to be mailed to all deposited students in June Online assessments to be completed by August 1; the results will be discussed during orientation and throughout the fall semester Sample cover letter and “Cox formatted” resume ed to CMC by August 1

August Overview MANDATORY Orientation August Please plan to be on campus for activities starting at 3pm on Sunday 8/10 and concluding on Saturday 8/16 Most activities take place 8am-5pm through the week but there will also be evening activities (some required, some optional) Further information to be mailed to all deposited students in June

Starting classes All classes in Fall 2008 will be assigned to you – there is no need to enroll until from Cox in July Fall 2008 – Module A Finance, Marketing Financial Accounting, and Statistics along with Managing Your Career Fall 2008 – Module B Economics, Accounting 2 (choose financial or managerial), and Decision Modeling along with Business Presentation Skills As soon as information on books is available it will be posted on the Class of 2010 Facebook group
