Get up and make your bed Eat breakfast Brush your teeth Get dressed Pack your bag Have a good day! Our Morning Routine

We learn… 10% of what we read 20% of what we hear 30% of what we see 50% of what we both see and hear 70% of what is discussed with others 80% of what we experience personally 95% of what we teach to someone else I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand. Chinese Proverb

Supporting your child at home in your native language Talk with your child Use your first language with your child Read to your child every day Enjoy a variety of language experiences together Have high expectations for language usage Plan fun things to do together:  Play board games, card games, or ‘I Spy’  Look at magazines or newspapers together  Go on outings and collect souvenirs to send to someone special  Tell your children family stories or stories about when they were younger, and let them retell them  Listen to songs, stories and poetry on CD, books on tapes, or on an iPod
