Early Life Went to study art in Chicago at age 16, but grew bored Moved to New York City and continued her studies Accepted position as art teacher in 1912 Brought in a live cow for her students to draw!

A Chance Friend of O’Keeffe took paintings to art show to display them Exhibited in New York City in 1918 Alfred Stieglitz, a photographer, was really attracted to O’Keeffe’s paintings

Love at First Sight Stieglitz loved O’Keeffe’s paintings Stieglitz and O’Keeffe fell in love and were married in 1924 O’Keeffe became friends with other artists and helped Stieglitz run the art gallery
