Memory Verse: Revelation 1:8 “ 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” BIBLE PASSAGE: Genesis 17:1-8 INTRODUCTION: The Mighty God is the Lord of hosts. He is eternal, unchangeable and possesses all powers. He has all knowledge and He is holy. One of the most profound statements in Holy Scripture about our Savior is the phrase used by the prophet Isaiah in (Isaiah 9:6) where he claims that Jesus shall be called the Mighty God.

Outline 1: THE TRAITS OF THIS MIGHTY GOD a.He is mighty to save – (Luke 19:10). To save means to rescue, rescue from battle, danger, destruction and the enemy. He can save the sinner (Acts 5:31). He picks a sinner, saves his soul, cleanses all his sins, changes his heart, sanctifies him and then empowers him. Peter was an ordinary fisherman and a sinful one too. b.He is mighty to empower - (Psalm 62:11). This Almighty God loves to demonstrate His power through human vessels. When he wanted to open the Red Sea, He channeled His power through a man. He told Moses to lift his hands to the sea to divide it. He decided to use a human vessel to shut the windows of Heaven, in (1 Kings 17:1). In (Joshua 10), Joshua spoke to God that the sun should stand still and the moon to remain where it was and it was so. It takes the power of the Almighty God to change curses into blessings (2 Kings 2:19-22). He can empower you - (Psalm 115:3, 2 Kings 13:20-21).
Outline 1: THE TRAITS OF THIS MIGHTY GOD c. He is mighty to deliver – (Psalm 91:1, Psalm 23:5). He can drown your enemy - (Exodus 14), throw bombs at them - (Joshua 10:10-11), make the ground to swallow up your enemies - (Numbers 16:31-32). He can cut off the head of your enemy - (1 Samuel 17:49-51, 2 Kings 1:9-12, 2 Kings 6:13-20, Esther 7:10). d. He is mighty to heal - (Luke 4:18). Just a word from Him is enough to heal - (Matthew 8:5-13, Luke 7:11-17, John 5:1-9). He can repair anything in our bodies that needs repairs (Mark 3:1-5, Mark 2:1-12)
Outline 1: THE TRAITS OF THIS MIGHTY GOD e. The mighty God is mighty to restore – (Jeremiah 32:27). In (2 Kings 5:1-14) when He decided to heal Naaman, his skin became whole like that of the skin of a new born baby. He said He is the God of all flesh f. Our God is mighty in love - (John 3:16, John 15:13). In (1 john 4:8), the Bible says God does not just love but He is Love Himself. In (John 13:1), the Bible tells us that Jesus loved His own till the every end. g. Our God is mighty in strength and wisdom - (Job 36:5)
Outline 2: LOOK UP UNTO THIS MIGHTY GOD. a.For lasting encouragement which only comes from God - (Genesis 15:1-6) b.For signs for answered prayers - (1 Kings 18:43-44) c.To receive power and anointing - (2 Kings 2:9-10). A Christian without power never represent Jesus. True and lasting power belongs to God - (Psalm 62:11). d.To pray and receive immediate answers - (John 11:41). e.To receive special revelation of the glory of God and see Jesus - (Acts 7:55) f.To receive help and assistance - (1 Samuel 1:9-11, 17) g.For protection and preservation - (Psalm 121:4-7)
CONCLUSION This mighty God is a very good Friend. He is the only Friend that can go through fire and the valley of the shadow of death with you. The Almighty God, because of His almightiness, does as He pleases. He is sovereign. God looks for people who will do His will. On them, He will release His almightiness. Are you ready to serve Him with all your time?
