Pentagon Undergoes Major Changes Jae Lee World History G December 4, 2008 Current Event

Who? President Obama Defense Secretary Robert Gates Pentagon

What? Agreement was formed with the Iraqi government, and now Pentagon somewhat agrees with President Obama’s plan to bring out all U.S. troops out of Iraq by President Obama decided to add more troops to Afghanistan, as he claims that the Bush administration forgot about the war there. The Pentagon has been working on the upcoming budget for the transition time. President Obama presented his budget to Congress days after he was sworn in. –The Pentagon says this month, the baseline budget would be $524 billion dollars.

Where? U.S., the Pentagon Afghanistan Iraq

When? Now (Current day)

Why? America is now trying to better control its economy. America is also trying to bring back the troops from Iraq, and control the situation in Afghanistan.

How do I feel about this? I feel as though the U.S. is in a tight space to maneuver, and that every decision the Pentagon and Congress make should count. Also I feel glad that the U.S. is starting to make changes, and that President Obama is acting just as he said during his campaign.
