 Bonds are two different atoms that have valance electrons.  They are four different types of bonds… - Ionic ( non metal/metal atoms ) Dissolves in water - Covalent Network ( non-metal atoms ) Doesn’t dissolves - Molecular Covalent (only non-metal atoms ) Doesn’t dissolve - Metallic ( only metal atoms ) Only some dissolve

 Na is a metal  Cl is a non-metal  In a ionic bond metal gives valance electrons to the non-metal. Cl ⁻₁ Na⁺₁

 Metallic bonds moves freely.  They don’t dissolve in water.  They are solids.  Has electricity  Made from metal only.
