Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineers use computers to help designing. There are more Mechanical Engineers then there are any other kind of engineers. Some Mechanical Engineers design tools to help other engineers do their job.

Why I Want To Be a Mechanical Engineer The career that I choose to research was mechanical engineer was because I like to work with mechanical objects, and I like to take things apart and see how they work.

Most Mechanical Engineers work in: Industrial Plants Office Buildings A laboratory Environment

Earnings The average earning is $58,710 a year. The middle 50% earned between $47,600 and $72,850. The lowest 10% earned $38,770. The highest 10% earned $88,610. The average earnings for personal supply services were $81,080. The average for the federal government was $66,320. The average for engineering and architectural services was $59,800. The average for motor vehicles and equipment was $59,400. And the average for construction and related machinery was $54,480.

Growth Mechanical Engineering is expected to grow about 10 to 20% a year up to the year But, as new technology is being developed, more job openings will increase. Also, Mechanical Engineers working in engineering service firms, and businesses is expected to increase faster than average because other companies contact those people to solve engineering problems.

High School Courses In high school, you don’t need any specific classes, but advanced classes in math and science would be helpful in getting into college.

College Courses You need to take at least four years of college training. Some of the classes you need include calculus I and II, thermodynamics, math- different equations, mechanical design, modeling of dynamic systems, an introductory electronics course, computer programming, materials, fluids, linear algebra, physics I through IV, and Senior design.

Other Training To be a Mechanical Engineer, you need to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam after you get a degree. Then you have to be a mechanical engineer for 4 years, then, if you pass the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam, you are a licensed engineer.

Corresponding Jobs  Some specific examples of other jobs that correspond to being a Mechanical Engineer are: astronomers, drafters, sales engineers, agriculture and food scientists, conservation scientists, and chemists.  They are all related because they all use mathematic and scientific principals.

Why I’m interested in being a Mechanical Engineer  I’m interested in Mechanical Engineering because I’m pretty good at fixing appliances and clocks and those kinds of things. Also, I like taking things apart, and seeing how they work. I like computers, and I like all the things you can do on them, and binary code. I like building simple things such as dressers and bookshelves, and I always wanted to build a clock.

Mechanical Engineering is the largest engineering category. Mechanical Engineers, build, design, and research mechanical devices. They have to finish high school and go on to college and get a degree and then a license. They work with mathematics and science most of the time. Many other jobs including other kinds of engineers, use mathematics and science in their work. They use computers to help them in their work. Engineers work about 40 hours a week. Then earn anything from $38, 770 a year, to $88,610 a year. The growth is supposed to be the same growth rate of 10-20% a year. They work in office buildings, laboratories, or industrial plants.
