The Farm

The farmer runs the farm. The farmer minds all the animals on his farm. He feeds them and looks after them. The farmer grows vegetables. The farmer drives the tractor.

The Farmyard The Barn The Tractor

The Cow The cow eats grass. The farmer milks the cow each day. A baby cow is called a calf. The farmer milks the cows in the milking parlour. The cows are milked twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.

The Sheep The sheep has wool. In the summer, the farmer shears the wool off of the sheep, so it will not get too hot. The wool is used to make clothes. A baby sheep is called a lamb.

The Pig Pigs live on the farm. A baby pig is called a piglet. Pigs live in a pigsty.

Horses Horses live on a farm. Horses sleep in a shed called a stable. Horses wear horse shoes on their feet. The farmer rides the horse.

A baby hen is called a chick. A baby sheep is called a lamb. A baby cow is called a calf. A baby pig is called a piglet. A baby horse is called a foal. A baby duck is called a duckling.
