When to Use Knoppix  Windows crashed  System Recovery Disks erase data  Need to get to your data

When Not to Use Knoppix  Physically damaged drives  If you heard strange sounds you had not heard before  CPU damaged in flood, power surge, etc.

Starting Knoppix  Insert CD/DVD or USB  Automatically boots in most computers Del, ESC, F1, F2 Select boot from CD or BIOS configuration Make CD drive first in “Boot Order”  Upon booting you will see: Press keys F2 or F3 for help and boot options KNOPPIX V boot: Press Enter.
