PREVIEW OF STEPS 1.Your hiring department adds you to the New Hire Checklist 2.Log-in to iStart and submit a request for Onboarding Appointment 3.Receive confirmation of your request 4.Call the office (UC International) and make an appointment 5.Read your carefully and follow the instructions: Complete your Online I-9 Form Print and complete the Onboarding Forms Gather up the required documents: I-94 Form I-20 or DS-2019 Passport Visa 6. Arrive on time for your appointment!

Being on the New Hire Checklist is very important – You must be on the New Hire Checklist before you can proceed.

Once your department notifies you that you are on the New Hire Checklist.. - Now the Action Starts!

Now it is time to log-on to iStart and fill out an eForm to schedule an appointment to Onboard for your new position.

You will be completing one of the following eforms: “Employment Eligibility Verification/Social Security Letter: Receiving a UC Paycheck” Or “Employment Eligibility Verification/Social Security Letter: Non-UC Employee”

Receiving a UC Paycheck: Your title would be either “Student Worker” or “Graduate Assistant” This eform will be used if your job is with a UC Department This may be either on Main Campus (west) or the Medical Campus (east) or at any of the Branch Campus’ Example: Student Affairs The Residence Halls The Learning Assistance Center Public Safety – Night Ride Environmental Health Pathology The Libraries UC Information Technology
