Comparative and Superlative Adjectives er and est more and most

Comparative Adjectives To compare 2 things, or 2 people, or 2 places: I am taller than my brother. Jackson is bigger than Bells. An iPad is better than a laptop. But we can use it to compare more than two things like: I am taller than my brother and my sister. Jackson is bigger than Bells and Alamo. An iPad is better than a laptop and a desktop. We can also use the comparative without stating the other thing if it’s understood such as: I feel better. (Meaning that it is understood to the person you are talking to than that you fell better than you did before).

Activity for Comparatives In groups of four, make as many true sentences as you can comparing each other using the following phrases: lives close to school; has big family; young; old; tall; short; has been learning English long; gets up early; goes to bed late Example: Marta lives closer to the school than Juan and Pablo.

Superlative Adjectives Comparing more than 2 things A lot of times you will see the in front of most or the word with the est. Social Studies is the most fun subject at school. Math is the easiest subject at school to me.

Superlative 4 th Graders! Award Category Ideas: the student with the nicest smile the friendliest student the hardest working student the earliest student the best-dressed student the most talkative student the quietest student
