From that time onwards, he named the five blessed ones as Singh and upon being baptised also changed his name from Gobind Rai to Gobind Singh. THIS WAS THE BIRTH OF KHALSA!

THE FIVE BLESSED ONES ! THE GURU ELIMINATED THE DFFERENCE WHICH THERE WAS AMONGST PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT CASTS AND CREATED THE KHALSA!

Vasakhi Vasakhi is celebration for the birth of khalsa.

AND EVERY MALE WAS NAME SINGH AS MIDDLE OR LAST NAME! FROM THIS DAY ON EVERY SIKH FEMALE WAS NAMED KAUR AS HER SURNAME OR MIDDLE NAME! SINGH AND KAUR AND EVERY MALE WAS NAME SINGH AS MIDDLE OR LAST NAME!
