The purpose of the Disaster and Development Centre (DDC) is to explore the association of sustainable development with improved human security through risk management, resilience, emergency response systems, and longer-term recovery strategies. These fields of inquiry are guided by the needs of communities and institutions in addressing vulnerability and disaster response.
