Quick Background Grew out of OMB requirement to report federal aviation costs and hours (OMB Circular A-126) System is on it’s third stage of development System is web-based via GSA Homepage ( … ‘Policy’ … ‘Aircraft Management’ … Reporting on Government Aircraft’ … ‘FAIRS’ Current application designed by the Idaho National Laboratory with collaboration from agency user’s and stakeholder’s Application has embedded training capability for all user’s Contains modules for entering data for all Federal (owned) aircraft as well as data for aircraft leased, rented, and chartered (Commercial Air Services), query tool and user account info Contains ‘Batch’ upload (spreadsheet) Automatic electronic messaging capability Inventory of over 1500 owned aircraft Agencies are required to report their data quarterly GSA reports the status of the Federal Aircraft program to OMB annually

What Happens to FAIRS When the Bubble Bursts ? Short Term … INL will maintain control over application until GSA contacts them (Region Three will assume control for all GSA Central Office functions) Agencies will be told via the ‘FAIRS’ ‘What’s New’ page the status of GSA Central Office functionality and an estimated date of return Long Term … When functionality of Central Office returns FAIRS Program Manager will reassume control of the system Questions
