 We are very close Allies working against the war on Terror. After 9/11, Morocco gave us very valuable information on al-Qaeda and in return when Casablanca and bombed on May 16, 2003, the U.S government supplied Morocco with our full military and intelligence community. Together we share political, diplomatic, commercial, economic, military, and security bonds. Because of this we have been able to maintain a very close relationship with Morocco’s government.

 Legal system highly based on Sharia  However they have modernized their legal system and are now quite different from traditional Sharia law.  Most of the people will agree that Sharia is still and will remain God’s will for all humans to fallow.

 There has only bee one execution in the past 25 years and the country is having many debates on capitol punishment much like the U.S.  Mudawanat al Asra is a new act that raises the status of women and children. With the act women have just as much power as men do and have the right to run in parliament and so on…  Men are now only permitted on wife and the government are begging to fight all the violence against women.

 The February 20 Movement for change actual began on Facebook and pulled together over 10,000 people across the country who came together to demand a democratic change. The people wanted the food prices to be lowered, the freedom over Islamist prisoners, more rights for Berbers, pan-Arab nationalism and many other causes.  oM0U oM0U
