Stakeholder Analysis NGO Planning Workshop

Who are stakeholders?  Anyone who is affected by the outcome of an activity and/or is able to influence the outcome positively or negatively  A particular person or group that has a stake in the outcome of an initiative we pursue.

Types of stakeholders Knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practices Organization/program capabilities Current and anticipated health issues Policies, legislation, political will, and cultural practices National health care priorities Socio-Political and Economic Environment Country/National Program Clients/Community Organization (including facilities) Yourself and Your Team

Recognizing your sphere of influence Circles of control and influence 1. Inner circle – what we have direct control over 2. Middle circle – what we can influence 3. Outer circle – what we have no influence over

Stakeholder Interests and Concerns  Who are our stakeholders?  Why do we need to understand our stakeholders interests and concerns?  How can we find out about our stakeholders’ concerns and interests?  How can we get their support?
