What is a personal development plan? A Personal development planning or PDP means creating opportunities to think through, in a structured way, questions such as: What do I really want to achieve from life? What kind of person do I want to be? Am I clear about my personal goals and ambitions? Am I making the right decisions to get me where I really want to be? Am I in charge of my life and my studies - or am I just hoping it all will work out somehow?

Finding your ideal career It is important to make sure that, not only do you have the right skills for a job, but that it also suits your personality and style. Most people “skill match” themselves against a job description, whilst some people use interactive tests like Fast Tomato or Direct Gov’s screening test. It is also important to find out what the role involves and how it links to other careers. You can normally find this information online or in a library.
