FamilySearch Account O Refer to the prior presentation for instructions on creating an account on FamilySearch.org O After you create your account, complete your family tree online – up to your 8 great- grandparents.
Building Your Tree O You may find it helpful to gather details on paper first O You can find a form at gree.pdf. You can fill it in online, or print it and fill it out. gree.pdf O Please note: Women should be entered with their maiden names (e.g. Michelle L. Robinson instead of Michelle L. Obama). If maiden name is unknown, leave blank.
Go to: to start building your tree online. They system will guide you through the process for up to your great-grandparents.
Viewing Your Tree O After you finish entering your family members, you will then go to view your family tree.

Synopsis O Write a 1-page synopsis describing the feelings and impressions you had while working on your family tree. O What did you learn? O What were your challenges? O From what did you benefit the most? O How would you relate this project to Africana Studies?
