Circus Arts in Switzerland Presentation

Circus in Switzerland around 300 professional circus artists (performers, directors, technicians, choreographers, pedagogues, etc) a national umbrella for professional circus artists (ProCirque) and a national umbrella for circus schools (FSEC) working together around 50 circus companies across the country or travelling aboard about 70 circus schools : youth circus and preparatory schools. 2 circus schools with a 3 years program more than 10’000 kids doing circus around 30 theatres that program circus around 10 circus festivals and events European networking (Circostrada, FACE, FEDEC, EYCO)

Work in progress… No recognition of the circus field No financial support No spaces for residences All the artists are living the country Circus schools not recognised and not helped No recognised diploma Difficulties to integrate the diffusion networks No support for the nationals umbrellas Circus doesn’t exist in the Swiss culture…

LABO’Cirque Project for young artists 3 weeks creation for young artists surrounded by professionals of the circus field a unique experience of exchanges, research and innovations one show in professional condition performing 4 times promotion of circus arts 3 rd edition in 2015!
