How does a mother falcon produce eggs? By: Kaleb and Lauren

Where Adult peregrines usually lay their eggs somewhere safe. They don’t really care about building a nest. Most falcons build a nest on top of a high ledge or mountain cliff in the wild. In cities, skyscrapers and huge buildings are used for falcons to lay their eggs high. That is usually a safe place as predators can’t get to them easily.

How the female knows it is time to lay an egg The female knows because pressure builds up in their body, and weight starts to build up inside of them. A shell forms around the single cell which will be the baby bird using calcium from the mother’s body. The female lays an egg about every other day during nesting season.
