Lets start with some Mool Mantar!

What do we know about Takht Sri Damdama Sahib?

Guru Kee Kanshi Guru Gobind Singh Jee said Guru Kee Kanshi (Damdama Sahib) would be a place where there would be many scholars, philosophers, writers, students and devotees. Bhramgianis who would walk with their head in their hand if need be!

What talents do we have?

Write your talent on a ‘Super Star’ Stick it on the ‘Total Talent Wall’

We can use ALL of our talents for Sikhi

A Sakhi from Damdama Sahib Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaaj came to Damdama Sahib after the battle of Mukhtsar. Guru Jee stayed in Damdama Sahib for just under 1 year. A Singh called Dalla did a benti and asked Guru Jee to come to Talwandi. Guru Jee accepted this benti and came to Talwandi.

Bhai Dalla speaks to Guru Jee In the sangat there were talks of the Battle of Chamkaur, Anandpur and Parivaar Vichorra. Bhai Dalla used to go to the Diwaans. He said to Guru Jee ‘Maharaaj, had you remembered me, I have so many brave warriors, If I was there and my warriors were in Chamkaur and in Sirhand, if my warriors were there, they are strong, I am strong, things would have been different’ *What do you think he meant?*

A Sikh from Lahore brought a gift to Guru Jee *What do you think the gift might have been?*

Guru Jee wants a target -Guru Jee said to Bhai Dalla we need a person to test this gun, bring one of your men. -Dalla went to his men, he said Guru Jee needs a target to test his gun, one of you do kirpa and go and stand there. -They told Bhai Dalla, they would not die testing guns, they would die fighting battles. They said to him, You are expecting us to die for no reason! -No one got up.

Bhai Dalla went back to Guru Jee -He went back to Guru Jee. -Guru Jee said ‘Dalla where are your warriors, that you speak so highly of? -Dalla told Guru Jee they had all ‘mukered’, and they would die fightin in battle -He said ‘But Guru Jee, I am your Shardaloo’. -Guru Jee said, then you be the target. *What would you be thinking if Guru Jee asked you to be the target?*

Guru Jee calls Dhir Singh and Vir Singh -Guru Jee said, outside there are two Singhs, call them and tell them Guru Gobind Singh needs a target to test his Bandookh. -They were tying their dastara and came quickly. -Their names were Dhir Singh and Vir Singh. They were father and son. -They fought over who would be the target. -Bhai Dalla was shocked! *Why was Bhai Dalla shocked?*

They fought over who would be the target -Guru Jee said ‘One of you go and stand there!’ why two. -The first said, I heard your call first, make me the target, the second said ‘no he’s lying, make me the target’ -Both ran to be the target. -They both go and stand as the target *These Sikhs had Real Love for Guru Jee and Sikhi!*

Guru Jee shoots above -Guru Jee fired the gun. -But the bullet came out on top. -Guru Jee laughed, he said to Dalla, Remember these are real warriors. *Why do you think Guru Jee asked for a target?*

The Aad Granth -Guru Arjan Dev Jee made the Aad Granth. He wrote the Shabads of previous Guru Sahibs, Bhagats, Bhatts and Gursikhs. -Guru Jee had so much respect for the Aad Granth, that he put it on his bed, and slept on the floor. -The Aad Granth was kept by Guru Arjan Dev Jee’s family.

Think about how YOU can show love for Guru Jee Write what you can do on your ‘Love for Guru Jee Heart’ Stick it on Our ‘Love for Guru Jee wall’

Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj -When Guru Gobind Singh Jee came to Damdama Sahib, he sent a Sikh to Dhir Mal to ask for the Aad Granth. - Dhir Mal refused and said if you are truly the Guru you can prepare your own Granth. -Guru Jee dictated the whole of Guru Granth Sahib Jee, and added additional Shabads. -It took 9 months, 9 days and 9 ‘Ghareea’ to dictate all of Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

Bhai Mani Singh Jee did a great Seva! *Does anyone know what he did?*

Bhai Mani Singh Jee -Bhai Mani Singh Jee did the Great Seva of Scribing Guru Granth Sahib Jee. -Guru Jee dictated exactly what to write. -The Sampooranta of Guru Granth Sahib Jee took place at Damdama Sahib. -Sikhs were taught the meanings of Gurbani, this is where Damdami Taksal began.

Baba Deep Singh -Baba Deep Singh, did the seva of providing ink and paper for Guru Granth Sahib Jee. -Baba Deep Singh was left in charge of Damdama Sahib by Guru Gobind Singh Jee. -Baba Jee wrote 4 Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj. -He vowed to give his life, but not before reaching Harmandar Sahib and doing Ardaas there.

Thinking Time *Think about all the things you have learnt about Damdama Sahib and Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj* *Think about all the ways we can show love and respect for Our Guru Sahib*
