Seven Criteria for Living Feeding/Eating- to obtain energy Movement-internal and/or external Breathing or Respiration-exchange gases with the environment Growth and Development-Living things become larger and/or more complicated as they grow. Sensitivity -Living things react to changes around them. Reproduction- All living things produce young. Excretion -All living things need to remove waste from their bodies.
Some nonliving things may show one or two of these criteria but living things will show all seven.
Nonliving things can be divided into two groups Those which were once part of a living thing Those which were once part of a living thing Those which were never part of a living thing Those which were never part of a living thing
