Personal Trainers

What does a personal trainer do exactly? A personal trainer meets with people daily or weekly depending on the person. Sometimes individually or with a group of people. They help people with various things like getting into shape, or help athletes improve in their sports, and building muscle, and helps people to know what foods are good and bad... Somethings that they may have to do are find a clients need, abilities and goals, teaching and demonstrating the use of equipment( weight machines...), lead clients through exercise routines and increase the difficulty each time, show client proper ways to lift weights and help them either lose weight or gain muscle mass...

How much money do they make? The salary for a Personal Trainer varies lots. If you are a personal trainer who is well known and popular and have lots of clients the you will do really good, but if you have few clients then you wont make as much. YOu generally make any where from an hour to or more an hour.

What education do they need? Employer prefer to hire personal trainers who have high school diploma and post secondary training. The following may also be required: Drug testing, police security clearance, valid drivers license, bondable, liability insurance. Complete two years post secondary training in human kinetics, kinesiology, physical education, health or exercise science. Complete written theory exam and score over 70%, and a pass/fail practical assessment exam And you have told have your CPR certificate and a course in First Aid. For the Lethbridge collage entrance requirements you need LA 30-1 or -2, And Bio 30 or equivalent.

What I have learned through this process? I learn that if I was to pursue being a personal trainer then I need to work hard to be the best at it so I can make enough money to support me and a family. If I were to do this job I would be doing something everyday that I love.( Working out and helping other people with their physical abilities.) I love physical activity, and I think this would be a good job for someone who loves physical activity and helping people.
