Gland Secreted from TSH is secreted by the pituitary gland that affects the thyroid gland. It is the hormone that stimulates thyroid hormone protection.

What does it do? TSH is most commonly used in testing blood hormone levels in evaluating thyroid function. It is highly sensitive and able to detect thyroid hormone imbalances earlier than any other blood test.

What does it do continued? As blood concentration of thyroid hormones increases, secretion of TRH and TSH decreases. Circulating thyroid hormones inhibit release of TRH and TSH. Part of the brain responsible for regulating body temperature, thirst and hunger.

Function TSH controls thyroid gland secretions. Hypothalamus regulates TSH secretion by producing thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH. When blood levels of thyroid hormone are low, your pituitary gland releases TSH. TSH stimulates the production of the thyroid hormones triiodothyronine and thyroxine. Once these hormones have reached the proper level in your blood, TSH production stops. part of the brain responsible for regulating body temperature, thirst and hunger.

Hypersecretion Hypersecretion of hormones comes from the thyroid gland, which is also known as hyperthyroidism. Can affect the entire body and be caused by multiple conditions.

Hyposecretion Also known as hypothyroidism, can be a sign of a malfunction in the hypothalamus.

Age? TSH can decrease as you age. It does not decrease for every old person.
