Bartlett-Venton Construction Limited Fight Falls

Some examples of slipping hazards:

Fight Falls Falls kill thousands of workers each year and injure millions. Yet these common incidents are preventable.

Fight Falls The first step in fall prevention is to be aware of the hazards. There are three basic types of fall hazards. Slipping hazards Tripping hazards Falls from heights

Fight Falls Spills of oil from machinery Icy outdoor walkways and steps Spilled beverages in the break room or work area Water on the floor in washrooms or around the sink in the lunchroom Mud, water and ice tracked into the entryway

Fight Falls Examples of tripping hazards:

Fight Falls Poorly marked steps or curbs Loose carpets or flooring Broken pavement Obstacles in walkways such as furniture, stored materials, hoses, cables or cords Open drawers Trash or scrap on the floor

Fight Falls What are “falls from heights”? These are falls from an area elevated off the ground. These include stairs, ladders, scaffolds, bridges, balconies or mezzanines, cliffs and other high locations. Falls from heights generally cause more serious injuries than falls from the same level -- but any fall can be fatal. Falls from heights can be caused by slipping or tripping, or they can simply be a matter of stepping off the elevated area into thin air.

Fight Falls The following are suggestions for eliminating a variety of fall hazards in the workplace:
