Social Science and the Arts The arts are documents of the past through which we are introduced to individuals in every part of the world Show the way they have expressed their perception of some part of their lives The arts are the voices of the people and images of their lives

Social Science and the Arts The arts can also be a powerful tool for social change- the way a people want things to be A strong social science program at the elementary “helps all students to develop their full potential for personal, civic, and professional life” (p. 101). The arts can help students contemplate the connections of history to their lives today
