Instructions & Notes This template was created to help you: – Show the team where you are going via slides representing each planned activity. – Keep your team productive and on track by filling in key steps and conclusions as you work tasks. – Give you a template to make it easier to create your team’s presentations. Descriptions of what goes on each page can be found below the page in the Notes section. The main pages and items in this template can be edited/distilled and then put into the 1-Page Summary report format. This report is your chance to go into more detail than in your 1-page summary report. Creative license - You can modify or customize this format to suit your needs. Different types of projects may need different types of information presented. Customize as you see fit. Add pages when needed. You may need more than one page for a specific topic, such as Background or Findings. Certain key types of information are universal. 1) problem statements, 2) objectives, 3) project timelines showing key tasks and how long they are scheduled to take or how long they did take, 4) baseline measures, 5) goals and objectives, 6) findings related to why the problems existed, 7) solutions – the things you are planning or did to make the improvements, and 8) measures that determine if you’ve achieved your goals. Use Activity/Conclusions slides to help keep the team focused. When you undertake an activity (data collection, flow charting, creating a fishbone diagram, etc.) document what you did and what you found. Be certain to answer the key questions “So what?” and “Now what?” for each activity. Describe what the conclusions are and what you’re going to do because of those conclusions. Remember, productive and effective teams are usually able to clearly tell their story and are proud to do so. It goes the other way too – being able to tell your story by documenting what you’ve done and using a presentation template to keep you on track can help your team be more productive and effective.

Communicating with Others Consider doing things like: – Posting each of your slides in a team project room. Post slides for activities you have not completed yet to help people see what it is that has to be accomplished. – If you have key measures or in- process measures, post sheets of paper with frequent updates or with forms that people write results in on a periodic basis. Create a dashboard or scorecard right there in your work area. Use the area to meet at and to discuss performance on a daily or weekly basis.
