Presentation transcript:

 All employees will be able to communicate with other people in the district, schools, colleges, and various organizations.  Access is provided to hundreds of databases, libraries, and computer services all over the world.

 In order to use these services, all employees must sign an acceptable use policy agreement before direct access to the internet or electronic mail is provided  All personnel using the school’s computers, computer networks, or systems are required to abide by this acceptable use policy.

 With this opportunity comes responsibility. It is important that you read the District policy, administrative regulations, and agreement form and ask questions if you need help in understanding them.  Inappropriate system use will result in the loss of the privilege to use this educational tool.

 Among the uses that are considered unacceptable and which constitute a violation of this Policy are the following: › Uses that violate the law or encourage others to violate the law › Transmittal of offensive or harassing messages › Any use which is commercial in nature › To use the internet to view, transmit or download pornographic or otherwise objectionable materials

› To use the internet to transmit confidential or copyrighted materials › To use the internet to download any program, partial program or game without the express permission of the Rio Grande City CISD › Any uses of the internet which causes harm to others or their property › Any improper use of passwords

› Any programming vandalism › Any “hacking” activities › Any activities designed to expose school district or other computer to computer “viruses” › Employees cannot provide private information about themselves over the internet including the employee’s credit card or social security numbers. › Employees cannot provide private information about any other individual over the internet, including credit card numbers and social security numbers

 Please note that the internet is a network of many types of communication and information networks.  It is possible that you may run across some material you might find objectionable. While the Rio Grande City CISD will take every step necessary to restrict access to such material, it is not possible to absolutely prevent such access.  It will be your responsibility to follow the rules for appropriate use.
