THE MORE OUR PEOPLE GROW THE MORE WE CARE FOR THEM… FRONTIDA ZOIS LTD CARE AT HOME FOR ELDERS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

THE NEW WAY OF LIFE The “contemporary lifestyle” (long working hours, and family obligations) has led to commitment of time of latest generation and difficulty to support the ones needing care.

WHY IS IMPORTANT FOR THEM? Elders want: To stay in familiar environment To avoid staying in Homes for the Aged Disabled people need: To enjoy the company of others To develop their personal skills To have a degree of autonomy

FRONTIDA ZOIS LTD " Frontida Zois" was founded in 2007 from young enthusiastic people, and it is truly the first private company in Greece which provides professional home care to elders and disabled persons. The Headquarters of FRONTIDA ZOIS are located in West Greece region, in the city of Patras Athens, Thessaloniki, Agrinio, Naypaktos, Aigio, Syros, and Kalamata have their own FRONTIDA ZOIS offices

Headquarters FRONTIDA ZOIS LTD

Frontida Zois provides personal care to elders and disabled people, helping them to live independently in their own environment with the highest quality of life that is achievable.

Elements about the company Frontida Zois right now has 22 employees, 7 social workers, 7 nurses, and 7 domestic assistants, plus one employee for administrative tasks. The number of Frontida Zois beneficiaries in all cities is 130, almost entirely elders. The most common services our company provides are nursing (injections, pharmaceutical supplement), housekeeping help (errants, basic help at home), and assistance with daily issues related to citizenship obligations (pension, bills).

EDUCATION & TRAINING In order to offer the best possible education and training to its employees Frontida Zois continuously organizes seminars and training events for its employees, and volunteers, and has a very essential cooperation with the Greek Ministry of Health, and other main factors of the elder care policy like the Gerontology and Geriatric company of West Greece.

STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT Frontida Zois since 2010 cooperates with the Greek Ministry of Occupation in the National Program «Help at Home». This program who started operating 10 years ago, consists of many autonomous units (nurse, social worker, domes. assistant) in every province of Greece offering help at home for free to the poorest elders. For the first time last year this cooperation was opened to include also private units. For the last two years Frontida has a contract with the Ministry mentioned before, to offer its services to the eldelry for free.

RESEARCH BACKROUNT OF THE COMPANY Because of the everyday challenges of the care giving procedure, and the continuously improving technological components of the assisted living environment, Frontida Zois strongly believes and wishes to invest in research aiming to the integration of the home carer presence with the upcoming technological innovations for the best accomplishment of the elderly care services.

RESEARCH BACKROUNT OF THE COMPANY Aiming to gain more experience like a company we have participated in interesting programmes, such as: Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme, Call2: “ Maintaining and Measuring Mental Wellness ” The main objective of the project is to develop a mental wellness toolset for self usage (i.e. for the individuals and their families), and only to a lesser extent for the medical experts (psychiatrists, psychologists, carers, etc.)

RESEARCH BACKROUNT OF THE COMPANY Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) Call: FP7-PEOPLE-2009-IAPP: “Incorporating European fundamental values into ICT for ageing: a vital political, ethical, technological, and industrial challenge (Value- Ageing)”

RESEARCH BACKROUNT OF THE COMPANY LLP Transfer of innovation program: “EQUIP II” Started November 2010 The main purpose of this project is to improve transparency and comparability of qualification and competencies across Europe for students and home care workers with older people.
