Fabulous Foldables: a make-and take workshop Presented by: UNCC SNEA http://unccsnea.weebly.com

What are Foldables? Foldables are 3 dimensional interactive graphic organizers that students create with paper. Foldables can be used at any grade level, in any subject area. Foldables can be used as learning tools AND assessment tools. (http://www.csun.edu/~krowlands/Content/Academic_Resources/Foldables/Basic%20Foldables.pdf)

Why Use Foldables? Foldables provide an engaging hands-on approach to learning. Foldables serve as fun alternatives to paper and pencil tests. Foldables improve note-taking skills and encourage note-taking, which helps students organize and therefore retain information. 70% of input to the human brain is visual. http://www.csun.edu/~krowlands/Content/Academic_Resources/Foldables/Basic%20Foldables.pdf

Overview Today, you will be creating and taking home samples of 7 different foldables. You will be shown examples and a demonstration for creating each one. Be prepared to brainstorm and discuss ways to use each foldable in your future classroom. We will work quickly to ensure that we get to each of the activities we have planned!
