Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) GWOT: means Global war on terrorism. The global war on terrorism began since the 9/11 terrorist attack on the US. The global war on terror is expensive. GWOT is now called overseas contingency operation: to better the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. In Pakistan, the US want to challenge the north and south Waziristan, and increase in predator drone strikes. In Iraq, they are trying to get a stable democracy. Afghanistan Obamas war had a special military operation to go in Afghanistan to take out the Taliban’s. The mission is economic development, build capacity, attack terrorists develop partnerships and educate and train. War on terror also gives the justification to violate human rights by detaining suspected terrorists, interrogation methods with use of torture and accessing personal computers.
