Presentation transcript:

By Hannah Williams, Pujah Shan And Ysabelle Hough!

From the beginning.. Cath Kidston got a £15,000 investment from her friend, in order to start up her own business This gave her enough money to start off her Notting Hill shop in 1993 She started off selling antique furniture and fabrics such as ironing board covers She distinctively decorated these with floral prints and patterns Here are some examples of the ironing board covers: These were a success so she then expanded her business, selling further products!

Cath Kidston herself.. Cath Kidston moved to London at the age of 18, starting to work for Nicky Haslam, an interior designer – She then set up her own shop The success of her floral prints and polka-dot home wares has given Cath Kidston an annual turnover of more than £50 million. In 2008 Cath designed reusable shopping bags for Tesco made from recycled plastic bottles. The project saved millions of bottles from going into landfill sites and raised £425,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. This charity is close to Cath's heart as both her parents died of cancer and she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of just 37 The little dog motif that frequently appears across the Cath Kidston range is based on her Lakeland terrier Stanley. As well as on fabric, Stanley in his distinctive red jacket, appears on a charm bracelet, necklace and kilt pin
