Objective For Health & PE Class  To implement new technology into the classroom to engage students in the most innovative Physical Activity.  To gain approval and resources to acquire new equipment and software for the class.  To accumulate a variety of electronic tools to utilize in Physical Education class.  To acquire technology that is interrelated and useful for a variety of different tasks.

XBOX 360

Why?  This game console will serve as a foundation for a variety of different activities.  This is the latest technology that is used worldwide, especially by youngsters.  This console has been available for about 7 years, therefore has reduced in price.  Upgrades for this system are available annually

Why?  This addition to the XBOX 360 makes it possible to participate in:  Football  Baseball  Skiing  Soccer  Bowling  Basketball  Horse-back riding  Parasailing And many more, all within the safety of the gymnasium!

Why else?  Students can participate in activities that aren’t readily available in the school or community.  Students will benefit greatly from participating in physical games offered by the XBOX Kinect.  Students will find the games fun. Keeping them engaged and enthusiastic about physical education.

Why?  This software is completely originally being the first controller-free, body tracking, fully- immersive dance video game.  This software will promote social interaction between students, and give them a new opportunity to demonstrate creative movement.  All students can participate, as they can shadow the leading participant.

Specs  Game comes with several dance routines and challenges.  Comes with a variety of different music.  Only requires the student’s bodily movements rather than a controller.  Has different levels of dancing to help students build their skills gradually.  $49.99(

Calorie Challenge (Software)

Why?  Students get the chance to fight the foods that they eat, giving it a unique hands-on approach.  Students gain an understanding of how calorie counting works.  Students see results instantaneously and can set goals as they progress.  Students will be very enthusiastic about burning calories as a way to improve their scores in the game.

Specs  This software is an add-on to Kinect Sports.  This add-on will serve as a tool that addresses a diverse classroom of all needs and goals.  This software only costs $4.00 and is well worth another way of making physical education more fun/beneficial.
