No Greater Commandment (Mark 12:28-34)

Everything starts with and flows from our relationship with God. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

“When I have learned to love God better than my earthly dearest, I shall love my earthly dearest better than I do now. Insofar as I learn to love my earthly dearest at the expense of God instead of God, I shall be moving toward the state in which I shall not love my earthly dearest at all. When first things are put first, second things are not suppressed but increased.” - C.S. Lewis

Everything starts with and flows from our relationship with God. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” We cannot love God in isolation from our other relationships. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” “Do no seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself.” Lev. 19:18 “Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Rom. 13:10

Everything starts with and flows from our relationship with God. We cannot love God in isolation from our other relationships. Being in the Kingdom requires more than approval of Jesus’ teachings – we must live his priorities!

“There is no commandment greater than these.” - Jesus
