Page Thomas Willmann Introduction Data corrections after transmission to Eurostat cause a lot of work and lead to additional errors and uncertainties as to which version is the correct one. The German cities cooperating in the "KOSIS- Gemeinschaft Urban Audit" decided therefore to technically support the next round of data collection by programmes that check the data as they arrive from the different sources."

Page Thomas Willmann Structure There are 6 data packages in the German data collection (according to the different data sources): 40 cities with 85 variables 40 cities for the subcity data (700 units) with 110 variables 40 cities and 32 LUZ from RegioStat with 190 variables 40 cities and 32 LUZ from Microzensus with 50 variables 40 cities and 32 LUZ from Federal Labour Agency with 70 variables 40 cities from different sources with 25 variables

Page Thomas Willmann Technical concept All data are stored in a central database All data collection from the cities is done via internet to this database An individual template is provided for each data source There is a possibility for uploading data from ascii-files

Page Thomas Willmann Individual forms Every user (city) has his own id and password Every user can collect and edit his own data The form shows for every variable the values from the previous found of collection During editing the form, input data can be checked with different rules (totals, difference to value of the previous round of collection)‏ The rules can point to errors (which have to be corrected) and to warnings (which can be ignored)‏
