Showing Demonstrations on the TV How to connect the camera to our TV set

Here’s what you will need Where to find what you need and how to connect the bits and pieces

The Tripod The tripod is stored in the room off the kitchen next to the sliding door

The TV remote Stored in the WAC office, on the right shelving (facing the classroom) on the left top shelf in a plastic basket. The basket has the remote, the TV instructions and the “pigtail connector” you will also need.

The Camera The camera is stored in a red and white striped bag in the bottom drawer of the metal filing cabinet to the left of the desk in the WAC office.

The Camera and Connectors Inside the red and white striped bag is the camera case. Inside the case is the camera. Next to the camera in the center section is the power cord.

Put the camera on the tripod The exposed metal screw on the top of the tripod fits into the hole at the bottom of the video camera. Insert the tripod screw into the hole and turn the camera until he connection is tight and the screw is fully inserted and holds the camera securely.

The camera on the tripod Make sure the camera is secure by tightening the screw that holds the camera on the tripod. Use the turn screws to level the camera and get it into the position you want.

Plug the power source into the back of the camera The power source plug fits only in one spot.

Attach the “pigtail” connector to the camera The “Pigtail” connector is in the plastic container with the TV remote. The connector’s smallest end fits in the “HMDI” slot on the camera.

Connect the camera to the tripod On the bottom of the camera, there is a small, grooved hole that will fit the protruding metal screw on the tripod top. Insert the tripod screw into the hole and turn the camera until he connection is tight and the screw is fully inserted and holds the camera securely.

Connect the TV to the camera using the pigtail connector Gently pull the bottom of the TV set a short way away from the wall. You will see the cords that have been rolled up and stored behind the TV. The black cord to the left is the HMDI connection. Pull this down and locate the end connector. This will fit into the other end of the pigtail connector you attached to the camera.

Position the camera and adjust the tripod You will need to adjust the height of the camera, the angle and its position to best show what is being demonstrated. Use the tripod’s adjustable features and tighten all the screws. You may need to use an extension cord for the camera’s power source. This is located in the camera bag also.

Testing your setup Using the TV remote, turn on the TV. Plug in the camera.

Turn on the Camera The button on the top left is the On/Off switch. Open the left side cover and swing it out – this is the small monitor. The TV set should show the same picture that you see through his small monitor. Adjust the tripod and angle of the camera for the best view of your subject.

Checking your audio The camera has a built-in microphone. You may need to adjust the volume on the TV set with the TV remote to get the correct volume that will come through the TV internal speakers.

That’s it! Enjoy the show!

Setting the camera up You are now ready to assemble and set up your camera
