Research, research, research! 1. Your process, your timeline, your responsibility. 2. Your final list of colleges/universities must be a thoughtful one. 4. Request teacher recommendations 5. If applicable, do SAT testing 1. Princeton Review course on campus 2. Take one SAT & possibly Subject Tests (May/June) 6. Attend College Visits 22 January 2014

Grade 12 – Students  Complete on-line application forms  UCAS, OUAC, Common App, UC’s, etc.  LIMIT of 10 Total Applications across all countries, in 1 application cycle  Write personal statement & supplemental essays  Standardized tests  Register by the deadline  Request that official scores are sent by College Board, TOEFL, IB, etc.  Remind teachers of recommendations ( min. 1, max. 2 )  For all countries – may need for accommodations, internships, work experience  Additional, if applicable:  Provide previous schools’ official transcript  Submit financial documents 22 January 2014

Gap Year Students Students should:  Have a PLAN and a budget!  Complete CV/resume on Naviance  Contact possible employers or programs  Career Fair: Feb. 18  Write formal letters to possible programs  Request teacher recommendation letters for the future  Recommend: apply to universities while at WAB, then request to defer  Possible for term of National Service obligation 22 January 2014

Grade 12 – Parents  Help students create a thoughtful set of options  Meet with counselor and students often  Ask questions of your counselor – we are here to support you!  Open communication is key to lowering stress of this process  Pay application fees and testing fees  Complete and submit financial paperwork on their behalf Remember – this is your student’s process! 22 January 2014

Grade 12 – Counselors  Submit official school documents on behalf of the student  Transcript/s  ALL Official Transcripts are mailed/sent directly to universities  Students/parents may request an unofficial copy  WAB does not calculate a GPA – easy to find the average out of 7 points  High School Profile  Teacher and Counselor letters of recommendation*  Predicted Grades (if applicable)*  Document requests must be made at least 2 working weeks in advance. * Confidential documents 22 January 2014
