Library Stencils Along with the standard stencils provided with the WorkPad desktop, the Library Service provides:  Master Data for managing common lists of resources, available in all models, Master Data is explained in the separate Business Optix Library Service – Master Data guide  Workflow for managing Review and Approval cycles, automatic document generation, and other automated tasks to be performed by the Library Service. Stencils and Templates Each stencil defines:  all the components, with their display and connection rules, available for building diagrams  all the properties associated with each type of component  the internal structure used for models For each stencil, a corresponding template defines the initial content of a New Model

Deploying Stencils in a Library  The Library Service allows customers to deploy new stencils and custom extensions, making them available to all users of a library  Stencils are deployed by uploading them to the Stencils sub-folder of the library’s System folder  Stencil file names identify the minimum product version they require. For example, a v4.0 stencil will be ignored by earlier versions of WorkPad  For each stencil (.xbs) file in this folder, there should be a matching (unversioned) template (.xbp) file  Most stencils use their own marker images. These should be uploaded to a sub-folder with the same name as the stencil  Standard and custom stencil extensions are also uploaded to the same sub-folder. Stencil extensions are versioned in the same way as the stencils themselves.
